"Reformation Japan" is a conference founded on the prayerful desire for pastors and church leaders in Japan to become more biblical. In Japan today, where the Christian population is quite small and the workers much fewer, we believe that the greatest need of churches is a return to the Bible. That is, the church must stand solely on Scripture alone, apart from any human wisdom, ideas, or experience. Furthermore, the church must be freed from the success-focused ideologies with which it has become so captivated.
Without realizing it, Japanese churches have become like secular companies-measuring the success of their ministries by the size of their church building or the number of church members. Under the influence of unbiblical ideas, the church, particularly its pastors and leaders, have come to managing the church with the goal of worldly success.
However, Church is not men's but God's.
The Lord not just desires but rather requires His church to be built according to His plan. In order to do so, His church must have its blueprint in the Word of God. Then it is imperative for any pastors and church leaders to strive for doing the ministry based upon biblical foundations and principles. We believe this to be the essence of the responsibility with which pastors and leaders have been entrusted in shepherding God's Church.
Our desire is to do ministry according to God's Word. We want to build His church just as God intended it to be. This is the purpose of this year's Reformation Japan. The Lord blessed us with the privilege of having Dr. and Mrs.
Busenitz from
The Master's Seminary, and Pastor and Mrs.
Shannon from
Grace Community Church (both in Sun Valley, California) as guest speakers for this three-day conference. Please join us as we learn about God-designed "Biblical Church and Ministries."
